I made up some boards for MEC push-pull pots, to use with the FS4 switched filter. These are the same as used on Wal. They work just fine, but despite the fact that they would retail for somewhere around $100 EACH, they don't have a particularly smooth feel or particularly accurate electrical properties. I am working with a supplier for much more reasonable units.
Playing around a little, I did notice that push-pulls are best set before setting the frequency, as they have a tendency to nudge it a little when they are pushed and pulled. Switches are nice because they are cleanly separated (and you can have three boost levels with the FY filter or the new FS5.) But they do make for a super clean look with just four knobs, and an FT treble boost on the volume push-pull gives you a setup identical to Wal.
