At the heart of the new preamps is a new filter circuit with ultra stable performance, higher resonant boost, and reduced noise. They are far quieter and more accurate across all settings than any other variable Q preamps I have tested. Here are some sound samples to demonstrate. The first part is a frequency sweep from high-low-high on the new Underhill filter, and the same sweep on another variable Q preamp. Preamp gain, recording interface, Q level etc. are all set to identical levels for the test. Sorry about the switch noise, I threw together a quick A/B harness for the test!
