I just received the first batch of custom concentric potentiometers that can be used for frequency and Q on a variable filter, or frequency and boost/cut on the parametric filter. The upper knob has a center detent for 1/2 Q or flat boost/cut. The special features are high accuracy, stiffer rotation on the larger bottom knob to help prevent bumping the frequency adjustment, and a strong solid upper shaft. I selected two at random and built them up, and they performed flawlessly and have a nice feel!
As soon as I get the production boards back, you will have the option for a four hole setup instead of six! And the cost may actually be less than separate controls, pending determination of the rejection rate on the parts (it looks like it will be much lower than the current pots).
